Day Care Companion


Assistance, in house monitoring and supervision to an individual in helping to maintaining a safe living environment when the person does not want to or is no longer able to do this alone.

Frequency: Daily Hours: 8 hours per Day Monday to Friday Weekends an Option

To provide a safe and amenable environment for the client

Educational and Training Background of Caregiver

High School Education, well spoken, experience with elderly patient care, ability to plan a clients daily activity in conjunction with the client, well organized and able to supervise medication, able to provide light meals and complete light household duties in an orderly and organized manner.

Costs per Day range from
$ 75.00 to $125.00
If contracted through an agency, payroll, social security taxes, liability insurance etc. will be part of the amounts charged by the agency.

If the contract is directly between the caregiver and the employer, the employer is liable for the payment of all payroll, social security and other taxes and government deductions. There are contract services which will complete weekly/monthly payroll work.

Duties of the Day Care Companion

Homemaker Companion


A Homemaker Companion Service is required when total home management is desired. The person cared for is able to look physically after themselves, but may no longer be willing or able to manage his/her household on his/her own. The formal and informal qualification for this type of carer are higher and so are the costs. But peace of mind obviously cannot be bought with money!
Frequency: Daily Hours: 8 hours per Day Monday to Friday Weekends an Option
Goal

To complete all household tasks and activities and create a safe and amenable environment for the client

Educational and Training Background of Caregiver

High School Education, well spoken, experience with elderly patient care; ability to plan and manage housework, provide meals and a clients daily activity in conjunction with the client. Has to be well organized and able to supervise medication.

Live-in Companion


A live-in companion provides an almost permanent 24 hour a day presence. It is an ideal solutions when close around the clock supervision and monitoring is required or wanted. There are two options for this type of service. Both options require the companion to live on the premises. In both cases, a cleaning service for heavy cleaning will be required.

(1) Hire a person, often foreign language students, who is in attendance for 6 to 8 hours per day, 3-6 days per week, living in-house. The usually contract period is between 12 and 24 months. This is the lower cost option and is sometimes also used as an alternative to the Day Care Companion Option. It is an ideal choice for clients who feel lonely or who want to share some time with an agreeable and pleasant younger person.
Frequency: Daily Hours: 24 hours per Day with a working day of between 4 and 8 hours 3 to 6 days per week
